One long room, off a quiet street

The studio

Hale is a single, unhurried studio above the old print works on Thackeray Lane — oak floors, tall windows, and space between the mats.

Single-line botanical arrangement of blooms and grasses

We keep the room simple on purpose. Warm light, plants in the window, and small classes so the teacher can actually see you and adjust for the body you brought today.

Everything else is easy. Mats, blocks, bolsters and somewhere to leave your things. No app to fight, no hard sell. Come to a class, see how the room feels, decide from there.

The teachers

  • Mara

    Founder · Slow Flow

Opened the room in 2019 after a decade teaching vinyasa. Runs most of the early classes.

  • Jonah

    Foundations

Teaches the first-timers. Patient about the difference between the shapes.

  • Priya

    Yin & Breath

The quiet counterweight. Holds the shapes long and says little.

What to bring

  • Loose clothes you can move and fold in.
  • A water bottle — there is a tap to fill it.
  • Socks for the walk from the mat to the door.
  • Yourself, ten minutes early for a first class.
